FAQs

Frequently asked questions from our guests

Is it safe to book directly with you? +

Absolutely. We're a legitimate company with verified listings on Airbnb, VRBO, and Booking.com — booking direct simply gives you better rates, fewer fees, and a more personal experience. Read our reviews on those platforms to see what our guests say. If you'd like to speak with us before booking, reach out via email or WhatsApp and we'll set up a call or video chat.

Note: due to high spam volumes we don't receive unsolicited calls, but we're happy to call you — just send us a message.

What is your cancellation policy? +

30+ days before check-in: Full refund
14–30 days before check-in: 50% refund
Less than 14 days before check-in: No refund

Can I change my dates? +

Yes — if your preferred dates are available, just let us know and we'll update your reservation at no charge. Note that rates vary by season, so any change is subject to the rate applicable to the new dates.

Do you offer longer stays during low season? +

Yes — we're open to longer term stays of up to 3 months between June and November. Get in touch and we'll work out a plan that suits you.

How does your damage deposit / insurance work? +

We partner with Truvi, an independent insurance provider. At booking you'll have the option to pay a refundable damage deposit or purchase a non-refundable damage waiver. All guests are required to complete identity verification through Truvi to protect against fraud. Please note that damage caused by pets or unauthorized guests is not covered.

What time is check-in and check-out? +

Standard check-in is 2pm and check-out is 11am. Because you're booking direct, we're flexible — just give us advance notice. If other guests are arriving or departing the same day our options may be limited, but we'll always do our best.

When is the best time to visit Costa Rica? +

Dry Season (December–April): Sunny, little rain, and peak tourist season — expect higher prices and more crowds.

Green Season (May–November): Warm mornings with afternoon showers. July and August — known locally as Veranillo (little summer) — are especially beautiful, with lush landscapes, more active wildlife, and significantly lower rates.

Don't be put off by the rainy season. Showers are usually dramatic but brief, and when the sun comes out, it's stunning. Pack a light rain jacket and enjoy the savings.

What is there to do in Playa Potrero? +

Once your booking is confirmed, we'll send you a digital guidebook packed with our personal recommendations — restaurants, bars, beaches, and local activities — accessible on your phone or downloadable for offline use.

For advance research, MyTan Feet is a great video travel blog covering Costa Rica and the Guanacaste region.

Is WiFi reliable? +

Our properties have 250+ Mbps WiFi, comfortably supporting 3–5 people and up to 10 devices. Occasionally the internet goes down — that's Costa Rica for you. It's the perfect excuse to head to the beach.

Are children welcome? +

Absolutely. Families are some of our favorite guests. We provide a crib and high chair at no extra cost — just let us know in advance and we'll have them ready.

Do you allow pets? +

We welcome one dog per property. A one-time pet cleaning fee of $50 applies. We ask that dogs stay off furniture — additional fees may apply if pet hair removal is required. Other pets are not permitted.

What's provided at the property? +

We provide the essentials: bed linens, towels, laundry and dish soap, hand soap, paper products, batteries, and lightbulbs. If you have any specific needs, just ask — we're happy to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
